What was the problem?
- Previously used live line saddle with chains to replace wooden crossarms
- This method doesn’t work for installing new composite crossarms
- Chains block the new bracket from being bolted to the pole
Omexom’s solution
- Working with an engineering firm, we designed a new bracket that allows us to use a glove-and-barrier mast to install composite crossarms
Benefit to the client
- “Live line bracket” is safer because it is simple to install while working at heights
- Removes risk of dropping chains
- More efficient as it saves up to 20 mins per crossarm replacement
