Omexom welcomes new HS Director

As a leading provider of engineering, construction, and maintenance services to asset owners in the utility, industrial, commercial, resources, and infrastructure sectors, Omexom New Zealand (Electrix) plays a vital role in supporting Aotearoa’s transition to a zero-carbon future.

With over 1,200 employees across 30 locations, and backed by our global parent company VINCI Energies, we combine international-level expertise with deep local commitment.

That commitment is underpinned by a strong focus on safety — something that’s constantly evolving, especially in the high-intensity world of electricity generation, transport and distribution.  To meet this challenge head-on, we’ve created a new leadership role: Health and Safety Director.

We’re proud to welcome Jackie Herd into this pivotal position.  Jackie brings nearly 30 years of global HSE leadership experience, including senior roles at Fonterra and Bayer Asia Pacific, where she oversaw safety for tens of thousands of employees and contractors.

Her strategic insight and personal dedication to safety will be instrumental in strengthening our culture of resilience, safety, and excellence — keeping safety at the forefront of everything we do, and ensuring our teams get home without harm, everyday.

Reflecting on Jackie’s appointment, Managing Director Mornez Green said: “Jackie joins us at an important time as we look to further strengthen our focus on health and safety.  We welcome her to Omexom and look forward to working together to achieve the energy transition for New Zealand safely and effectively.”
