Successful global e-waste recycling day at Omexom

New Zealand produces 80,000 tonnes of e-waste each year, equivalent to 20kg per person. A significant amount of that e-waste is illegally disposed of on farm dumps, which can leach chemicals into the soil and waterways.
On March 18th, in celebration of Global Recycling Day, we organised an event aligned with VINCI’s theme for the year: e-Waste. The aim was to provide a convenient and responsible way for our employees around the country to recycle various types of household and office e-waste.
Partnering with Upcycle, our trusted e-waste recycling company, ensured compliance with all e-waste recycling and disposal requirements. The event was a resounding success, with two-and-a-half vans full of e-waste collected nationwide. Employees enthusiastically took advantage of the opportunity to recycle cables, old laptops and desktops, mobile phones and other electronics taking up space in their homes, free of charge.
This initiative promoted the importance of responsible e-waste disposal and highlighted the environmental benefits of recycling.
